The Dunkwa Area Teachers Co-operative Credit Union in Dunkwa-On-Offin, on Wednesday, February 8, 2022, presented a neonatal incubator to the Dunkwa Government Hospital.
The COMeN-branded rechargeable Lithium-ion battery incubator worth GHC40,000.00 was donated to the facility in response to an appeal the hospital management made to the Dunkwa-based financial management firm in the year 2022.
Presenting the equipment to the hospital management at a colourful but short ceremony at the facility on Wednesday, the Board Chairman of DATCCU, Mr. Dauda Issaka, said the donation forms part of the company's corporate social responsibility policy and indicated that his outfit felt the need to respond to the call to partly close the logistic gap of the only major facility in the Upper Denkyira enclave.
He urged the management of the facility to take good care of the equipment so it can continuously serve the purpose for which it was procured and called on corporate Ghana to emulate DATCCU's initiative.
The Chief Executive Officer of DATCCU, Mr. Emmanuel Kofi Obeng on his part, urged the general public, especially artisans, business owners, and other informal sector groups to continuously patronize the tailor-made services of DATCCU by saving and accessing credit facilities to grow and expand their businesses.
Receiving the donation, the Medical Superintendent of the Dunkwa Government Hospital, Dr. Jonathan Benjamin Annan said the lives of children are precious and so under no circumstances should lives be lost in this era of technological advancement.
In furtherance of this, he expressed his appreciation and that of the hospital to DATCCU for responding to their call and urged other corporate institutions, especially the financial institutions in and around Dunkwa to emulate the exemplary gesture of DATCCU.
He further appealed to the general public to assist the hospital to procure state-of-the-art physiotherapy equipment for the hospital.
He pledged that the incubator would be put to good use and consistently maintained to prolong its life span.
At the ceremony were senior management members of the hospital and other Board members of DATCCU.
